CAHRAZY BUT when I was in Portland - we went on a little walking tour by our office there and my friends pointed Powell Books place out! It's about 2-3 blocks from our office. What a very cool place and a cool history!
I love your photos too. they're so good! So much life and depth

Portland looks like a fun city! That bookstore is amazing, and those doughnuts look like beautiful artwork! Love the photos of your boys!!

Oh, and if you ever find yourself in Olympia, WA looking for a bookstore, my mom's cousin Jane owns the Fireside Bookstore. I have never had a chance to visit, but have been told it is cozy, and has a large selection of Children's books!!

aww… you were in my neck of the woods. funny but i've never actually stayed in line for a voodoo doughnut even though i've definitely contemplated it but haven't actually done it. glad you have your power back. I love Powell's and I know the family personally. Great people.

I love Powells. Never been to Voodoo. Never heard of it. I guess I live under a rock! I'm not a huge donut person, so they'd have to be pretty amazing to tempt me. Now, if it was Voodoo brownies or lemon bars, I'd be all over that!

I live in Tennessee but around 4 years ago, my brother moved out to Portland. Each time I plan a visit to him, I make it a requirement that we go to Voodoo and spend a day at Powell's. I threaten to cancel the trip if he tries to say no! I've decided that I want to live in Powell's. I think I could stay for quite a while before anyone found me. :)
