everybody freak out!

it's that time again... remember here & here?  welp, now it's happening here.

they've reset the votes at top baby blogs.  they do this every three months to give new blogs a crack at the higher ranks & to weed out the old ones that no longer participate.  so it's a good thing, really.

except when we lose our hard earned spot in the top 10 (ish).

why do i care?  and why should you care?  because being in the higher ranks of top baby blogs brings all kinds of traffic into this here little blog.  more traffic means more awesome readers which means more fun new blogger friends & cool opportunities & more giveaways & fun things for everyone.  but mostly me & you.  so we should all care.

so mandy, from harper's happenings, has invited anyone in the blogosphere to take part in a little something called "steppin' out saturday."  a day to post your digs & show off your style.  not that i have any style.  but it's definitely something i'm trying to get better at, so it's fun to see what other mama's are wearing.

this is p-ray & me post-church.  one of the two days a week i get to get all fancied-up (the other day is my one day in the office).  photo credits go to sam, which also explains why it looks like the photographer is about a foot taller than me.  cuz um, he is.

we were climbing so steadily from all your votes, & then it happened.  total reset!

let's not be distraught & think that all our hard work & votes were for nothing.  this is actually a good thing.  now we're at a level playing field with all the other blogs & we can see where we really rank in the grand scheme of things.  when i listed this blog at top baby blogs, we started at #362.  as of midnight last night, we were at #41.  we can get back there, i know we can, ya'll.  but not without your votes.

so this is me, being humble, & saying i'll love you forever & keep posting dang-near daily posts if you promise to keep voting.

now, parker on the other hand is using a different tactic.

he's using pure intimidation & threats.  i told him it was probably a little inappropriate to do what he was doing, but what control do i have over this kid?
