summer beach day // cannon beach

the beach is easily one of our family's favorite places.  we have the perfect day down to a science... it's hug point for the first half of the day exploring tide pools & waterfalls, then downtown cannon beach for fish & chips at tom's, then the second half of the day spent haystack rock playing in the creek throwing a ball for brooks.

this time we added something new... a fire on the beach!  definitely our best beach decision in a while.  it was so fun to stick around after sunset & watch the sun go down beyond the horizon all cozied up to a fire & eating s'mores.

we give this beach trip a 10/10, would definitely do again.

camping // mount hood

this was our third year carrying on the tradition of an annual camping trip with sam's family.  we've got it down to a pretty good system between our three families (sam's parents, sister's fam & us).  here's year one & year two.  this was the first year brooks got to join which added an extra level of chaos but we all had a blast.  kayaking, hiking, s'mores roasting, fishing, trail running, stars gazing, flashlight tagging & lots of yummy food eating.

can't wait to do it again next year.

late spring // early summer

i don't know how else to blog if not to just pop in after six months & randomly drop recent photos.  i never did post our hawaii photos & i haven't been super diligent these last couple months at taking p365 photos but it's always been a project by my own rules.  so anywho, here are a few from late spring & early summer.  we had a lot of baseball, a little soccer, the end of another year of preK & first grade, a ton of rain (which probably had a lot to do with my loss of photo taking motivation, per the uge) & now, summer break.  we're all looking forward to easy breezy summer life.

january // in pictures

the first half of january can be summarized by one word: "snow."  so many snow days i don't even remember how many days of school the boys missed but it was a lot.  it was a blast but we're ready for spring.
