wordless{ish} wednesday: milk face.

there actually was a time when i swore i would never put pictures on my blog of parker in his high chair with food all over his face.  i don't know who i swore that to, but i'm pretty sure it was said.  i swore i wouldn't do it because i get all antsy when parker's messy.  but it's something i have to get over.  i hate stains on his shirts, dirt on his pants, or smudges on his face.

as a mom of an adventurous little boy, i'm working on it.

see?  here i am posting pictures of my messy kid who decided that taking big gulps of his milk & then letting it dribble down his chin would be a great idea.  so much that it totally pooled under his chin & sat on his chest & collected in the pocket in his bib.

your kid does this, right?

weekday recap - {in iPhone pics} w.16

we woke up to snow monday morning & had to say goodbye to our friends who headed back to the eastside.  p-ray & i hung out around the house without makeup on & watched the snow fall in our pj's.  i did another home-dye hair job monday night... the dark hair is becoming my new norm.  for now.

tuesday night we hit up costco, which i enjoy almost as much as target.  actually, costco may be better depending on the samples being served.  tuesday night sam ran parker through a few basketball drills... he's getting pretty good with his ball handling skills.  no, seriously... the kid's got skills.

we took a spur of the moment road trip down to portland wednesday night.  parker slept during the drive & i had to take pictures.  why?  because i never, ever, get sick of watching parker sleep.  ever.  portland's always a good time.  especially when it involves vintage hats at nordstrom, dinner with auntie jodi, & pushing p-ray around in a cart at costco.  yes, costco... again.

so thursday night, sam was letting parker have some nakey time back in the nursery after his bath.  after going to the kitchen to throw something away, sam found parker like this.  back in the bathroom, naked & longing to get back in the bath.  have you ever seen a cuter dimply butt?  i doubt it.

p-ray & i slept in til 9:45 on friday morning... don't hate us cause we're awesome.  we managed to get ourselves ready for the day & headed out for a playdate.  parker insisted on bringing his new favorite toy... a flexible gummy-doll with a picture of sam as its face.  it makes me laugh.

our friday night consisted of a family wrestling match, a movie & some air-pop popcorn.  we chose air-pop once we realized our microwave popcorn had 15 grams of trans-fat per bag.  i can't believe that's even legal!

so this is where we're at.  p-ray decided he's not a huge fan of the car seat, so he's pulled out some crazy acrobatics to avoid being buckled in.  i wish you all could see how stiff his little body becomes when he does this crazy maneuver.

i can't help but laugh.  silly boy.

before ya'll start thinking those "no wonder your kid is sick" thoughts, i did wipe down the handle with a clorox wipe upon entering the store.  that makes this not so bad, right?  RIGHT?

sick & mischievous little boy.

my little man is still sick.  as i type this, i can hear him back in his room coughing hacking every few minutes.  ugh.  i. hate. this.  i took him to the doctor today & they prescribed an antibiotic to treat it as an upper respiratory tract infection. 

i hope he gets better.  soon.

i was telling sam tonight that the hardest part about having a sick kid isn't all the extra care, the extra love, or the lack of sleep you experience while they're sick... no, the hardest part is seeing them uncomfortable & there is absolutely nothing you can do to take it away.  i am such a pansy.

anywho, yes, he was sick today... but not too sick to cause some mischief.  he's definitely at the point of getting into things.  little stinker.

see that plant on top of that speaker?  one guess as to how all that dirt landed all over p-ray {and my carpet}.  if you look closely in the third picture, you can see that he got what he wanted.

yes.  all of that for one little measly dead leaf.  i hope it was worth it.
