parker // impromptu photo shoot

this kid is just the cutest.  he's home for the summer & we've settled in to a pretty nice little lazy routine of no routine.  both kids have a couple camps & swimming lessons this summer but for the most part we're taking it easy breezy.  the other day i found him just laying on my bed staring at the ceiling so i snuggled up for a sec which turned into tickles & then i was standing on the bed looking down on him & realized, this is a photo op.  ha!  such is life as a photographer.  i told him not to move & i ran to grab my camera.

i love these so much.

elliot came in towards the end & wasn't into pictures... he just wanted to wrestle.  i mean, that's just kinda how it is around here.  ya take what you can get.

late spring // early summer

i don't know how else to blog if not to just pop in after six months & randomly drop recent photos.  i never did post our hawaii photos & i haven't been super diligent these last couple months at taking p365 photos but it's always been a project by my own rules.  so anywho, here are a few from late spring & early summer.  we had a lot of baseball, a little soccer, the end of another year of preK & first grade, a ton of rain (which probably had a lot to do with my loss of photo taking motivation, per the uge) & now, summer break.  we're all looking forward to easy breezy summer life.

january // in pictures

the first half of january can be summarized by one word: "snow."  so many snow days i don't even remember how many days of school the boys missed but it was a lot.  it was a blast but we're ready for spring.

here's how we spent the first couple weeks of the month.

santa photos 2016 // HIPSTER SANTA

so we decided to mix up santa this year & by "mix up" i mean we did it portland style.  we visited HIPSTER SANTA and he was kinda the best thing ever.  his chair was made out of pdx carpet, he had a man bun, he wore "the dude" sweater over a flannel, he had a deer head over his seat, peppermint candy earrings & "naughty or nice" tattoos.  i mean, ya don't get much more portland than that.

coincidentally this was the most fun the boys have ever had visiting santa.  it was the first year both kiddos wanted to actually sit up on the chair with him & they had giant smiles on their faces the entire time.  he was so fun & nice to them, they just had a blast.

i mean how many of the same ol' santa photos does one family really need?  i'm so happy we did something different & special for where we live that we can look back at & laugh at for years to come.

merry christmas.
