legit.

check this out.

this is what i've been spending a few late nights doing when i've been neglecting this here blog.  so can ya do me a solid?  can ya take a peak & let me know if it works for you?  take a look around & tell me what you think?  hate the auto play music, think i should take it off?  because i'm debating.  i'm not honestly the auto-play music kinda girl but i've found that 95% of all photog sites have background music & i kinda like setting the stage for my photos.  but let me know what you think.

also, a week in iPhotos will probably be delayed until sunday this weekend.  we're heading out of town for the night & i just need to be with my fam & not worry about scheduling a post... ya know?  just kinda one of those times.  but don't worry... there is all kinds of p-ray cuteness via iPhone just waiting to be put on display from our week.

hope everyone is having an awesome friday & all set to enjoy the weekend.

  1. Hi Amy! I'm mostly a lurker around here, but I love your blog, and I love reading about your life! I recently got married, and so I've spent a lot of time around photography websites. I think your site looks great, and I love that you include information about pricing and what your sessions include! I'm a very strong "no" on auto play music, and I've talked to a lot of people who actually won't consider photographers who have music on their websites. I think that a lot of the time, when people are researching photographers, they may be doing other things (work, internet browsing, watching TV, etc.), so the music can be really distracting. It can also slow down the load time on a photographer's website, and most of us don't have the patience to wait while photos, text, and music take five minutes to load. Just my two cents. Congrats on this new venture! I wish I lived by you so that my new hubby and I could take some post-wedding engagement shots! :)

  8. Amy, all the way from Oklahoma, I send you my best wishes on your new photography venture. I think your photos are great and I see you're getting better and better. I've been considering slowly getting into photography as a side venture...just to build up my knowledge and experience. I actually have my first photo shoot this Sunday :) I went to borrowlenses.com and am renting the 85mm f/1.8 for the weekend to see if it's something I really want to invest in. I heard the 85MM f/1.2 is by far the best portrait lens. I would love to swap photography knowledge with ya! :) Keep up the good work!

  12. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! also a fan of the background music. it's nice too because it doesn't play the whole time when you're navigating through the site - only when you're on the home page so it's def not annoying like background music on some sites can be sometimes. and plus your song is cool.

  15. Yep. Love the site and the music. Blogs - autoplay music is a no-no. Websites - yes it's good. Especially photog sites.

  16. I don't like auto play music...I almost always immediately close a site that has auto play. I went to your site knowing it was there an waited for the annoyance....I actually like it. I think I like the fact that the song has a slow start and that there are no words. Good choice but I would still not have it cause a lot of times I am trolling blogs while I am nursing/rocking baby and it startles her or I am browsing while hubby is sleeping. BUT if you chose to keep it, I'd say that was the best choice of song.

  17. Amy, it looks so awesome! Your shots are really so beautiful. My favorite on your homepage is the one with the children on the parents shoulders - a perfect moment!

  18. Even though this is actually the best auto-music I've heard on a website, I'd still suggest doing away with it (for many of the same reasons others have mentioned). Otherwise, the site looks beautiful and the pictures are awesome!

  19. Amy, first off Congratulations!! The site looks great. Since you asked though I HATE auto play music. I often have a sleeping baby in my arms and the sudden music wakes her up or at least I'm afraid it will. I think if you can have a very obvious "off" button then it would make it a little better. I do like the music you choose, it's very nice.

  20. Love the site!! It's very nice and simple, easy on the eyes! I don't mind auto music on photography sites because it's usually low key. I did so many sessions this year but I'm still debating on whether or not to really push photography. I'm curious as to what new lens you got, love my 35mm but looking for something a little more. Good job with everything, you are very talented!

  21. Congrats on starting your business, that is super exciting! I just stumbled upon your post, but no music. Do you know who Lawrence Chan is? He talks about it, because often people are checking you out at work.. and music can spoil that they aren't working and that they are surfing. And other people are already listening to their own thing. And if they don't like your music it will turn them off to you completely. Good luck!
