twenty-nine weeks. bumpdate!

as of today i am twenty-nine weeks!  whooooooa.  seriously?  the last week of my twenties.  how did we get here?  didn't i just post about being halfway through this pregnancy?  i swear that was yesterday.

you guys, i'm going to have a BABY here soon!  like, i don't think i've really been taking this pregnancy for real... it has seemed like it took forever for my big belly to get here, for the baby to make big movements & for this to actually all start happening.  but it's happening.  and as much as i sometimes feel like this baby will never be here, i'm starting to realize he'll be here before i know it.  scary AND exciting!!  i am not ready!!

although, we did purchase a couple pretty big baby things this last week... our double stroller & an ergo carrier.  i am way too ridiculously excited for both these things.  i'll probably wheel parker around in the stroller by himself just because i can & maybe i'll try to convince parker & sam to test out the ergo.  it can hold up to 45 pounds, ya know.  and then when it's time, i am so excited to take my two little boys out for walks in the sun in their shared stroller or wear this new little guy around in the ergo while finding ways to get parker out of the house.  two pretty big items that are gonna make life as a mom of two a little bit easier... can. not. wait.

but seriously time?  s-l-o-w down.

  1. I have an ergo and I love the heck out of it. ruby loved it when she was little, too. (now, too, but she would always fall asleep snuggled up in the infant carrier. it was so sweet. and it's super comfy - even for her big self now. hope you guys enjoy it! oh, & holy moly - hello last week in the 20's! crazy that in a couple months you'll be able to post another birth story if you want to! wow. anyway, have a great holiday weekend!! :)

  2. I wanted to second the ergo-love! Love. Love. Love. We still use it when we go into NYC for the day (so much easier than a stroller). My son is 20 months and about 30lbs & I love the hip carry at this age. I will say though that we got the infant insert when he was an infant & never used it. I just always felt that he couldn't breathe (because he couldn't hold his head up and seemed all smooshed in there). Now that we have #2 on the way I think we'll be giving it another try with the infant though. Sorry this got so long!!! Short story: good purchase!

  4. Congrats on the bump! I noticed you are still looking for a name - I noticed before and I know you are keeping quiet (understandably so) on what your final choice would be so, I didn't want to put any suggestions out there. BUT since you are still thinking - my nephew (and we live in Baltimore, so no worries on the kids running into each other!) is named Paxton. He's almost 4 and super great. I thought Parker and Paxton might be a nice mix if you are going for the "P" theme thing (I know, some people love the matching names, some people hate it). Oddly, after Paxton's name was long on the birth certificate, a Thomas the Train character came out with the same name - so originality on his name may have gone out the window! Good luck with choosing!

  6. Which double did you get? I'm looking at the BOB or the Citi Mini double, but don't know what to do with my current BOB Revolution single. It was such a big purchase, I hate to just get rid of it. Can't believe how far along you are already!!!!! So exciting :)

Try not to stress, you'll be ready in time before he gets here.

  9. Kinda makes me feel better that at 17 weeks we don't have a name either! ;) We had both a boy and girl name locked in at 17 weeks last time so I feel this immense pressure to pick one NOW! haha

  10. Love your growing bump, so cute!! I love the Ergo and wish I had gotten it earlier with Hunter. What double stroller did you guys get? I'm so undecided about whether or not to get one. Hunter will be almost 3 when the baby will be born. He rarely uses the stroller anymore. Ugh, can't decide!! Congrats on almost being out of the 20-something weeks!

  11. You won't regret your decision with the ERGO. Have used it for both of my boys and it's a staple in my life!!! :) What did you get for a double. We have the Baby Jogger Select and it's a great stroller. There are soooo many choices out there for EVERYTHING!!

  13. Yay, getting so close!! The ergo is amazing now that Brendan is 4 months, but before now, he seemed way too small for it. Maybe I was missing something, but don't get discouraged if it doesn't work in the beginning. It is so worth the wait-- I can discreetly nurse in it, too, which has come in SO handy!

  14. Both of those purchases are on my Mommy To Do list this summer! Along with odds & ends of new/replacement baby things-new wash cloths, new burp cloths, new tub.
I am an avid reader of your blog with a little boy who just turned 2 on Wednesday and we are expecting Baby Boy #2 in early September. Seems we have a lot in common :) love your blog!
