another thing i swore i wouldn't do... done.

you know those parents who think every little thing their kid does is super cute?  and you know how you swore you wouldn't be one of those annoying parents?  yeah ummmm... oops.  i'm guilty.  and i totally didn't think that would be me.  but seriously?  this kid kills me.

i caught him reading a book yesterday.  he was flipping through the pages, saying the words in parker-talk, pointing to the pictures, & acting surprised with every single new page.

{this is when the book got really good.}

and he's so advanced he can read upside down.  no big deal.

when sam comes home & asks what we did today, i feel kinda weird saying, "well... i watched parker read a book for about fifteen minutes.  that was cool."  but no, seriously.  that was cool, right?

{linking up with sweet shot tuesday & the happiness project.  check 'em out.}

how about a vote for a reading baby?

  2. Haha, yeah I think we all end up being one of those moms. Yesterday my husband got excited because our daughter said "tennis ball" while we were reading her first words book. So I guess Daddy's aren't exempt either. :)

  5. This is seriously cute. I'm so impressed that (1) Parker has the attention to span to spend more than three seconds looking at a book, and (2) he lets you take pictures of him reading a book.

  13. How sweet is that!? He genuinely looks interested in what he is reading. My kiddo just stuffs the books in his mouth. Sometimes I catch myself just staring at him in awe of how funny/wierd he is. He has been carrying things around in his mouth while he crawls now...either he's spending too much time with our dogs or he is super efficient. lol.

  20. that's great that he enjoys books like that. Lily was like that when she was a baby. she still spends most of her time looking through books. she is now 18mths old.

  26. yup, everything your own child does is definitely the cutest thing in the whole entire world. i think every mom is guilty of that, including me. :) aren't those dr. seuss board books the best??

  27. OH my gosh, that is so cute! Niall is really into "reading" books on his own right now, too. It's hysterical when I walk in the room and find him flipping back and forth as if he's re-reading pages to make sure he understood that last part ;)

  28. hahaha I can tell even from the pictures that it actually was adorable and wasn't just you being his mother. ;) My nephew is the first grandchild of my in-laws, and whenever we get together we always end up just watching the little guy for a ridiculously large amount of the time. I think that's how it should be. :)

    Great photos of your little guy!

  30. No, you're not one of those people - he really is completely precious!
    Reminds me of my husband, though, he will say (in all seriousness) "do you think other people get jealous of how awesome our kids are?" it makes me crack up every time because he really isn't joking!

  31. I have been reading your blog for awhile. Your son is super adorable. One of my twins is OBSESSED with Hop on Pop and some of his first words were cup, pup, hop and pop. He now just walks around saying up pup..hop pop (so cute). I never comment but couldn't resist. Thanks for sharing!!!

  34. So cute! Landon will flip through his books but a minute later he will be chewing on them. We've had to take to them away and give him those fabric books. He was messing up the "real" books. Haha.
