where i post cupcake pictures & then talk about eating healthy.

whattup friends.

i've missed a day or two of posting this week but i have good reason i promise!  my niece & nephew have been here the past few days & i've been real busy showing them a good time around town, eating lots of ice cream & costco muffins & watching loads of movies.  so all those very important things have left very little time for blogging.

in other words, it's been a blast.

i haven't taken nearly enough pictures.  mostly because sitting around eating popcorn & bawling your eyes out to "my sister's keeper" {holy crap, no one told me i'd cry through the WHOLE movie!} doesn't photograph too well anyway.  but you know what did?  our little visit to a new cupcake shop downtown.  cupcakes always deserve pictures.

and that brings me to my next point.  you guys, i have fallen so far off the wagon it's semi-depressing.  you know what i'm talking about.  you go weeks & weeks eating healthy, working out & being super strict with your diet & exercise regime while seeing great results & feeling great about yourself.  and then?  you have girl's night/date night/family in town/birthday parties/car shopping stress/every other excuse in the book to eat poorly all at once & you realize you're burnt out from your strict regiment & you quit caring about what you eat & your workouts suck because you have no energy from eating crap all the time & then you realize you're pretty much back where you were weeks ago because you really really like eating chocolate costco muffins for breakfast, lunch & dinner.  no?  just me?  boo.

long story short, i'm telling y'all that it's ending.  i'm stopping the bleeding right now & am starting anew today.  it just sucks when falling off the wagon tastes so freaking good, ya know?  but it doesn't feel good.  i find that my diet is totally tied in to my mood, so something's gotta change.  so look forward to some more health/fitness posts in the near future.  because i'm back in the game folks.  and that's all i have to say about that.

also?  happy july.  we have new sponsors hanging out in the side bar {check them ooooouuuuut!} & i expect summer, real live summer, to start here in the pnw real soon.  it's just gotta.

maybe you could click twice to vote?  yes please, maybe?

  1. I definitely feel you on the healthy eating/workout business. I've been at it since March 1st, and it is really getting exhausting. BUT, I try and start each day new. I remind myself that yes it is ok to indulge now and again, but I really truly do feel better if I take better care of myself.

But yes, I would much rather eat chocolate muffins all the time :o).

  3. What a cute niece and nephew you have! I think everyone in your family must be beautiful! ;-) And I totally hear you on the bad eating thing...it's a downward spiral. The positive is that the opposite is also true but because it's an upward spiral, it moves a lot s.l.o.w.e.r.... Something to do with gravity maybe? Lol.

  5. How cute is that cupcake place with the perfect name?? You are such an ideal auntie! It's so unfair how one bad food calls to the next. For me it is french fries & pop, or buttery popcorn & pop - and sweets are not that tempting to me ...unless i take that first bite and then it is all over...(sigh) But I am walking a lot around the 'hood these days and loving it! Do not fear you will always bounce back!

  6. Ooh...a cupcake place! I'll have to check it out. What's with all these yummy dessert places emerging in Olympia just as I've been drastically cutting my dessert intake?!? Hmmm...chocolate Costco muffins. Love those things with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!

  8. Those cupcakes...yum. I totally think you deserve a break every once and a while, especially when you're as strict with it as you seem to be! Good for you for taking a break and getting right back into it :)

  9. Oh man, my sister's keeper. Book and movie ended differently, but both had me crying.

Nieces and nephews deserve a few days of splurging, but I understand the feeling of mood being tied in with what you consume. I'm the same way. If I don't have plenty of fruits and veggies my body feels sort of sluggish. Have fun getting the healthy streak back! :) I know you've got it in you.

  11. I just told my husband that I totally fell off the wagon, and now that wagon is in a different state; and that's saying something since we live in Hawaii! Time to jump back on! All these BBQ's, lu`aus etc...have been doing damage to my routine.

  13. I am right there with ya. I started counting calories a few months ago, dropped some serious weight within the first 2 weeks, and then totally fell of the wagon. Good luck getting back on! If only cupcakes and cookies were healthy!

  14. Oh yea, there are a bunch of times throughout the year where I just know I'm gonna be off the wagon for a few weeks (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter vacation, my birthday to name a few). But it's worth it as long as you get back on track eventually :)
