resolving

so what is a new year without some resolutions?  i mean really.  i love the start of a new year because it's totally a chance to start afresh & anew.  even though january 1st is really no different than december 31st, it is in my head.  it's like monday... only bigger.

so what am i resolving to do this year?  what are some of my goals for 2k11?  well... here are a few:

•  i'm totally doing p365 this year.  i got myself a decent camera & i'm gonna use it.  i'm gonna get better at it & i'm gonna find something to take a picture of at least once a day.

•  i want to unleash my inner fashionista.  i've felt so inspired by lots of other bloggers out there who rock such cute styles, & i'm ready to dump the daily t-shirt & hoodie look. and try new things.  headbands, bows, leggings... all things i LOVE on other people, but haven't dared try.  this is my year.

•  i want to ride the seattle to portland in july.  this is a 205 mile bike ride from downtown seattle to downtown portland.  i have a strong love affair with my bike, but it was horribly neglected last summer.  i'm gonna make it up to her {yes, my bike is a her.  her name is tess}.

•  it's time to get back in shape.  like, for reals.  i'm at my pre-prego weight but the bod aint the same.  it's time to take my work outs seriously & find ways to work out in-between stroller strides days.  it's gotta happen.

•  continue to blog lots.  blogging is an amazing creative outlet for me when folding laundry & putting away dishes don't quite cut it.  it's important to me & i'm sticking with it.

•  and of course, spend lots & lots of time with these two.  they're my favorites.

  1. These are great resolutions and pretty similar to mine. I just don't have the guts to type them out and post them. I'm afraid someone might actually hold me to them!

  5. Those are good goals. The whole exercising thing, I have yet to jump on that. I NEED to. I'm also *almost* pre-pregnancy weight my I'm struggling to fit into some of my cloths... cause... my body isn't the same either. Bah. Hopefully I'll be inspired by your work outs and start doing it myself.

  17. ps.. I too love the red hat. I have recently adopted a few headbands and hats too. never used to wear them, thought they made my face look even rounder now it's cold enough I don't care.

  20. Great resolutions! I want to learn to use my camera and take lots of pics, too. (You already know how to use yours though). And working out? Totally need to hop on board with that one!!! You look great in that hat! You should totally rock your inner fashionista! Accessories are a wonderful thing.

  21. i just adore everything about you! you are so beautiful in that first photo and that red hat...i would so wear that. this whole post is like you read my mind. it is time i dump the slob look and start dressing up a tad more. even if it is to lug my kids out to target and browse the aisles of stuff i have no business buying. i am definitely in a rut and i think it kinda makes me depressed. not in a i am worthless kinda way but more like a "man is this all i am going to do with myself every day" kinda way. time for change. when you feel good about yourself it will definitely inspire you to want to make changes in other areas. I should read that last sentence twice and do that myself.

  22. I love this post! I've also started my annual "get in shape" regiment along with the rest of the world. Every May I run a 5K and this year I seriously hope to accomplish my goal of completing it in less than 30 minutes - eek! Good luck with all your wonderful resolutions. I can't wait to hear about your progress :)
